Visits to a Dogs' Homes of Tasmania Home are by appointment only. Appointments must be made to come and meet the dogs, adopt a dog, surrender a dog, or reclaim a dog.

Why do I have to make an appointment to view the dogs?
We put the care of our dogs above anything else. During the coronavirus lockdown, we went to an appointments/EOI system to limit visitor numbers. It taught us a valuable lesson: the dogs suffer in an open-door policy. Large numbers of people coming through the home results in a zoo-like environment that causes the dogs unnecessary stress at an already difficult time in their lives, when calm and quiet is vital to their wellbeing. In light of that, we have retained the appointments process for the benefit of our dogs. We appreciate your understanding.
